Lladd

There is a new version of my tribute to Margaret Kilgallen in Cardiff. Margaret often combined her interests in typography and the vernacular.

When tagging walls and trains, she called herself Matokie Slaughter, the name of a female old time banjo player. Since I was putting this up in Wales, I have her painting the word slaughter in Welsh. Lladd is also a really cool looking word.

It was nice to go back the next day and see my work happily coexisting with other people's tags, paste ups and even the random detritus from their Monday night out. I guess not all cities in the UK are as overzealous about ridding the place of graffiti as London.

Pasted up on Womanby Street in Cardiff, Wales.
